On 21st September 2026, YONECO officers in Mulanje conducted a session on women’s economic empowerment in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Mabuka, in the district.

During the session, officers equipped participants with knowledge and economic skills to improve their businesses and navigate the nation’s economic instability. Key topics included engaging in multiple income-generating activities and participating in Village Savings and Loan (#VSL) groups.

These strategies aim to help participants diversify their business opportunities, providing a safety net if one venture fails.

Additionally, officers encouraged participants to engage in intra-household decision-making. This approach promotes inclusivity by promoting holistic decisions that address the needs of every family member.
